Football Card Grading

Modern football grading is dominated by rookie-year Panini Prizm and Donruss Optic cards of star quarterbacks. Vintage Topps football — especially the 1957 through 1970s runs — grades out very tough on centering.

What graders look for on football cards

Look for chipping on Prizm-stock edges and print lines on the glossy surface. Centering tolerances on vintage football were notoriously loose at the factory.
